Technical Training

Technical Training

Technique in soccer, like any other athletic endeavor, is the foundation of fun and success in the game. It is the cornerstone of player development. A player with good technique can play with their head up. They can see more of the game so they can make quicker and better decisions. A player who fails to work on their technique plays with their head down and cannot see the big picture.

BRSC recognizes the critical nature of technical training and offers free this additional session on Friday evenings at 5:30 at the Red Dam Church field for all players 10U - 12U (playing 7v7 or 9v9). There is no charge and no need to register.

Technical training is designed to give BRSC players the opportunity to get more touches on the ball in an academy-like environment. The sessions are coached by Jack and other members of the BRSC Coaching Staff, so players get to hear new voices and new coaching styles. The focus is entirely technique and will help each player get more comfortable on the ball.

Various topics included in the technical training curriculum include:

Ball control

Protecting the Ball at Your Feet

Pace and Accuracy of Passes

Receiving Passes "Sideways On"

Shooting with Power and Accuracy

The BRSC Technical Training sessions are designed to fun, relaxing and filled with touches on the ball and to bring individualized coaching to our players' development.
